When I was younger. I would always be pottering around in the garden and generally out and about in nature. Unfortunately – due to one thing or another. This hasn’t been the case for a number of years.
[Digression Time –
The same can be said for current circumstance. Whereas I was hoping to spend my afternoons of the past week amongst nature. I wasn’t actually able to reach the garden until yesterday. Which is why I am posting on a Tuesday and not Sunday.
That said. It does prove a point to myself, to take more time to spend in nature than I do at present. Another reason for my including the making of incense – literally, into the mix – was to ensure this.]
Okay, digression over. It’s been a good day and we move onto the post.
As well as being a worthwhile and satisfying extension to current gardening projects – if you like gardening that is. It would probably be quicker and easier to list what cannot be used, when it comes to making our own Incense.
Fair to say, this can largely be down to personal preference which leaves us all feeling good as we begin first of all, with our favourites. The added benefit comes with having created them ourselves.
Our particular garden has a variety of fruits, vegetables and flowers.
Looking at individual ingredients to turn into Incense – I begin by Listing a few items we are growing: –
Fruits:
* Cherry
* Plum
* Apple
* Strawberry
* Raspberry
* loganberry
* Blackberry
* Cherry
* Rhubarb
* Pear
Flowers:
* Roses (selection)
* Sunflowers
* Lavender
* Sweetpea
* Leucanthemum (X superbum snow lady)
* Coreopsis (selection)
* Echinacea
* Dwarf Rhododendron (selection)
* Daffodils
* Sweet William
Herbs/Spices:
* Mint (Spearmint & Chocolate)
* Thyme
* Sage
* Rosemary
* Chive
* Coriander
* Chilli
* Oregano
From those above lists and depending on the given season. We can see, there’s a good number of stand alone main ingredients for our initial incense making requirements. As well as those that may be blended together.
So we’re off to a good start with main ingredients and tools that were mentioned in our previous post. In addition, we now have a Coffee Grinder/Coffee Mill, and Mason Jars to add to the overall process.
Along with everything else we’re putting together. There is an initial plan in place with regards to Incense, and we look forward to updating on that at a later stage.
Thank you for reading.
Next Week. We begin our talks on: Walking in Nature.
