We’re now coming to the end of our discussions on love and the entire topics of the Emotions Wheel. We’ve passed through so much on our journey and arrive this week: Peaceful, Tranquil, Satisfied.
The Britannica Dictionary states: –
Peaceful
Quiet and calm: Without noise, excitement, etc.
Tranquil
Quiet and peaceful.
Satisfied
Having a happy or pleased feeling because of something that you did or something that happened to you.
Our final exercise sees us once again putting the focus on ourselves:
Self-Kindness.
Sit in a comfortable position that is non-restrictive. You may close your eyes having read the instructions below.
Focus on your breath awhile, allowing it to be just as it is and settle into the present moment.
Now. Consider the breath as your messenger. It lets you know how you’re feeling in the moment, both physically and emotionally. Just allow whatever comes, to be there with you.
Notice how your breath feels and the sensation of the exhale.
Move deeper into this practice and think of a loving presence. This could be family, friend, pet, or a spiritual figure. They can be from your past or present and may also be someone who is alive or now passed away. Someone who brings a sense of peace, love and safety to you. Of caring and accepting of you just as you are.
How would you feel in their presence?
How does it feel to be accepted, to feel worthy, seen and cared for?
As you experience those feelings. Notice what it feels like.
Is it warm?
Is there a sense of light?
Is there a sense of energy?
Does a colour, or texture present itself?
Whatever comes, just allow it to be there with you.
What would you want to hear from this loving presence – if they could speak?
With one hand over your heart, feel the love and acceptance moving through you whilst repeating their message to you.
Imagine this presence embracing you. It can be incredibly powerful to wrap your arms around yourself in a hug.
Feel this unconditional love embracing you now and stay with it awhile.
When you are ready to move on. Remember this love is readily accessible. There is and always will be, love there for us. Sometimes we just forget to look.
You are enough just as you are.
You are worthy.
You are are loved.
Thank you for reading.
