“He bringeth forth grass for the cattle: and green herb for the service of men;
That he may bring food out of the earth, and wine that maketh glad the heart of man: and oil to make him a cheerful countenance, and bread to strengthen man’s heart.
The trees of the Lord also are full of sap: even the cedars of Libanus which he hath planted.”
Psalm 104, v.14

Now you are truly living at cause and not effect. You enjoy the moment… You’re present. With this in mind, the following exercise may help, as you go about your week:
Acting With Intention
This week. See where the above descriptions feature in your life. Or look for where you may wish to include them and set about doing so.
Of course, you can set an intention for any activity you wish – or for your day in general – In doing so, try to clarify what is most needed in that moment. Mindfully carry the intention with you, checking in occasionally to re-align yourself if you forget.
As the day draws to a close, reflect on whether you remembered your intentions and how often you followed them. Look for specific instances and congratulate yourself for those you followed through with.
Be mindful not to confuse intentions with goals. Goals occur in the future. Intentions can be in the moment.
Remember. Acting according to our intentions, takes time and practice. So be kind on yourself if you forget, as it is quite common to do so.
“Come, let us join our cheerful songs,
With angels round the throne;
Ten thousand thousand are their tongues,
But all their joys are one.
Worthy the lamb that died, they cry,
To be exalted thus;
Worthy the Lamb, our lips reply,
For he was slain for us.”
Hymns and Spiritual Songs (1707) ‘Come, let us join our cheerful songs.’
