This is a time to take time…

That doesn’t mean we do nothing until we’ve moved through this state. In fact. It is an ideal opportunity to utilise the Emotions Wheel by way of an example, to explain this week’s topic. You see, when moving from one emotional state to another. Things can get rather confusing. We may become Disillusioned – Perplexed even. Particularly if the pace quickens.

Getting caught in the moment – we may say:
“Well I wasn’t expecting that!”
“Oh, now I’m confused.”
“Honestly. I don’t know whether I’m coming or going!” Sounds familiar, I’m sure.

On this particular part of our journey. We’re on an Amber light. So we may proceed, albeit with caution.

To get back to the Emotions Wheel as an analogy.
The scene can be set as: Past. Present and Future.

To start with – what is now our past – we were in a state of fear. Uncertain of what the future may bring. We knew this and came to accept it as part of our day. That is, until Anger payed a visit. Now feeling different and with a change in experiences, we began to question our circumstances. Next came Sadness. Amidst further changes, which may have been quite daunting for some.

At present. We’re moving through the state of Surprise. Feeling Stunned and Confused. We’ve passed through so many emotions to get to this point. One thing that is now known – if not before – The common denominator in all Human Beings, is the constant emotional change.

Then we move into the future. Initially and still within the Surprised state. Feeling: Amazed; Overcome and Moved. Onto Joy and Love.

Whilst we may be confused right now. Let’s remind ourselves of the Emotions Wheel and what it represents. That is, a constant cycle of emotional states we all go through. Just like a physical wheel, things can move forwards or backwards.

With this knowingness. It can be reassuring to know that things will not always be this way. Look at the wheel and you will not only see where you’ve been. You’ll see where you’re going.
