Emotions Wheel:- Sadness 1/7

It was the week before Christmas and all around the house. Sadness crept in, with little regard for a mouse…. Or anything! Or anyone else for that matter!

Yes folks! In this season to be jolly, where we may be “Rocking Around The Christmas Tree.” Sadness hangs in the shadows.

Once again on the emotions wheel, our topic of conversation is quite timely. Amid all of the festivities to be had at this time of year. It is also a time to think of those who may not be singing “Merrily On High” right now.

Also. Not everyone celebrates, acknowledges or is even able to enjoy Christmas. With this in mind, we continue on.

To date. Discussions have followed one another, as listed on the wheel. For this particular topic and due to the Christmas period. I may juggle the inner topics to suit the time of year and general mood that it brings.

Currently, we’re with sadness.
Just as with all other emotions, it too has it’s place. It is OK to feel this way. Remind yourselves also, that all things must come to pass. This is good news, as it means, things will not always be this way.

When we are in a state of sadness, it is – generally speaking – due to feeling: -Distressed. Melancholic. Disappointed. Shameful. Neglected. Hopeless.

So if you find either of those matching your current feelings, without giving it power over you – sit with it awhile. Try to understand why you are feeling this way. When you do so, this may well give you the power to move through and overcome it.

As ever. Please do reach out for assistance, should you require it.

Now let’s bring ourselves back to the time of year. Even if Christmas time isn’t your thing. You can still get into the spirit of being you!
This includes giving yourself room to be kind to yourself regardless. In whatever way feels right for you in the moment. After all. No one knows you better than yourself.

If you do find yourself moving back into feelings of sadness. Once again, recognise this and move back into self kindness.

Next Week, we’re discussing:- Neglected – Isolated – Lonely.

Until Then. Thank you for reading.
