I began the discussion on fear with the subject of Halloween. As this post goes out one day prior to that and concludes the discussion on Fear. I also finish on the same subject.
When we are under the grip of Fear. Or more precisely – as in today’s discussion. We find ourselves in a horrified state. Not content with merely feeling dreadful about whatever situations we are experiencing. Fear has one more trick for us to contend with. That trick is to instil in us, the feeling of being Mortified also.
The Britannica Dictionary states: –
Horrified:
To cause (someone) to feel horror or shock: to greatly upset and shock (someone).
Mortified:
To cause (someone) to feel very embarrassed and foolish.
Dreadful:
Very bad or unpleasant.
How very cruel you are Fear. I will add, as well as your dark side – which I admire. You also have a sick sense of humour. That is OK, each to their own.
Well Fear. We are in the business of turning situations around and turning darkness into light. So, you have landed on the right page. I will approach your dark side with love and light. And the sick aspect mentioned earlier, will be turned around full on by humour alone. I accept the challenge!
I have mentioned in an earlier post. Fear has been defined as False Evidence Appearing Real. That being said. You do not and cannot actually exist. Therefore, you are the joke set upon us in an attempt to make us think and feel otherwise. If we were to succumb to your attempts on making us believe in you, then we are faced with only doom, gloom, negativity and an ever-decreasing cycle of life.
Those amongst us who read or are familiar with scripture are well aware of false idols.
It is admittedly convenient for us that you begin with the word False. Talk about hiding in plain sight. I acknowledged your dark side earlier – which I admire in anyone. Yet I cannot accept the real sickness in which is totally and unquestionably solely you. That in which you are, can only reveal itself by those who are in the unfortunate position of actually giving you some credence. Therein succumbing to all you represent. Shame on you Fear. You do have a lot to answer for. And yet in order to make you answer, we must first believe in you, in order to acknowledge you. Very cruel. We neither believe nor accept False Evidence Appearing Real, by definition. Very cruel indeed.
We are approaching Halloween and Fear is very much the trick. Whilst love and light can only and forever will be the treat.
Now to those of you who are reading. No. I haven’t lost the plot. Sometimes we have to face things head on. Through love and light, we can overcome all. Remember. Whatever situations in which we find ourselves now, nothing ever remains the same and this too shall pass.
The above conversation where I address Fear may give rise to questionable sanity – I agree. Yet this is exactly what does happen with all who succumb to it. When you look upon it as an observer – my reason for writing it. You cannot fail to see the ridiculousness involved in such a thing. And when you see that. You may find the humour also, as you awaken.
Whereas we may face situations and circumstances of an horrific and dreadful nature. This too must pass.
In life, we are fed many experiences. It is how we handle it that defines us and makes us who we become.
As ever. If you are genuinely in some form of fear. Do not suffer in silence and please do seek guidance and assistance accordingly.
OK. Back to Halloween.
Not to put too fine a point on it. We have all had the burden of restrictions in recent history. In the vast majority of cases, we have reinvented ourselves and that has now become our new normal routine. For some it has led to overall betterment – which can never be bad.
As this discussion draws to a close, in so far as being Mortified is concerned.
It’s ok to feel a little foolish and even embarrassed now and again. The festivities of Halloween are there to be enjoyed. So don’t be too hard on yourself at this time. Have fun and enjoy the moment – in whatever way does it for you.
Don’t you at least deserve that much?
If not, why not?
And if not now, when?
Thank you for reading.
Next Week. We move forward with the Emotions Wheel, as we step away from Fear and begin our discussions on: Anger.
