EFT Energy and TFT 7/14

This week. I go a little deeper on last week’s discussion of EFT. As I first discuss EFT Energy, and move onto Thought Field Therapy (TFT).

EFT Energy was developed by Silvia Hartmann and differs from EFT by application.

First of all, I mentioned last week two scales that you may use in order to measure your issue/concern. They are the SUE and SUD Scales. With EFT Energy, the SUE Scale is used.

Rate your “issue/concern” on the SUE Scale between -10 up to +10.

Secondly. There are two statements used in EFT Energy, one negative and one positive.

The negative statement would be constructed as in Standard EFT, that we discussed last week and we will continue using last weeks statement, for the benefit of this discussion.

Also worth mentioning at this point, some Practitioners use the word “problem” to encourage discussion when wording your statement, this should not be taken literally. That is just a loose word used, when asking people to open up about themselves. If you take the word literally, your focus will force you to see it as such. This can actually hinder any progress you may have made and in turn set you back, in my opinion.
Please note, we’re discussing our emotions here – something we are experiencing and not who we are.
This is why instead, I use the words: “issue/concern” as I discuss those three methods of tapping. There is a difference and I trust you will see that, when going through the methods.

So, we have our negative statement (long version):
“Even though I have this worry, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

Your Sequence Phrase (short version):
“This worry.” Or “This worry I have.”

Next, we create our positive statement (long version), which would be opposite to the negative. Again, for the benefit of this discussion, we will use the following:

“Now I have peace and contentment, I deeply and completely accept myself.”

Your Positive Sequence Phrase (short version):
“Peace and contentment.”

To begin. Place your hands on your heart and say “I”. Now take three deep breaths and with each exhale, state the long version of your negative statement.

Then, state your negative short version as you go through the tapping sequence.

The Sequence (tap 5-7 times on each):
Top of the head.
Third Eye point. (mid-forehead above eyebrows).
Eyebrow Point. (EB)
Side of Eye. (SE)
Under the Eye. (UE)
Under the nose. (UN)
Chin. (CH)
Collar Bone. (CB)
Outer edge of Thumb. (TH)
Outer Edge of Index finger. (IF)
Outer edge of Middle finger. (MF)
Outer edge of Ring finger. (RF)
Outer edge of Little finger. (LF)
The outer edge refers to where the nail meets skin.

Karate Chop Point:
Repeat short statement once, tapping up to 20 times.

As your scale rating improves, you may decide to switch to your positive statement now. Please only do so when you are ready. If so:

Rate where you are on the scale. Place your hands on your heart and say “I”.
Now take three deep breaths and with each exhale, state the long version of your positive statement.

Then, state your positive short version as you go through the tapping sequence.

To close the procedure.
Place your hands on your heart and say “I”.
Now take three deep breaths and with each exhale, state the long version of your positive statement.

Now we move onto TFT which stands for: Thought Field Therapy. It was developed by Psychologist Dr. Roger Callahan in the 1980’s.

It differs from both EFT and EFT Energy, which you will see, as we go through the procedure.

The sequence of tapping is called the Algorithm and there is a separate one for each “issue/concern.”

Let us begin:

Rate your “issue/concern” on either the SUE or SUD Scale.

Instead of saying your chosen statement, TFT has you thinking about the “issue/concern” whilst tapping.

For Worry, tap on the following 5 – 7 times:
Under the Eye. (UE)
Under the Arm. (UA)
Collar Bone. (CB)

The Nine Gamut Procedure is carried out after each algorithm.
The Gamut Point is located on the back of the hand between the knuckles of the Ring Finger and Little Finger, around a finger’s width away.
The steps to complete whilst tapping this point are:
1/ Close your eyes.
2/ Open your eyes.
3/ Keeping your head centre, look down to the right.
4/ Keeping your head centre, look down to the left.
5/ Roll your eyes – circular movement.
6/ Roll your eyes the other way – circular movement.
7/ Hum 5 seconds of a song (Happy Birthday – for instance).
8/ Count out loud – 1 2 3 4 5.
9/ Hum again 5 seconds of a song.

To close: Looking downward, roll your eyes slowly upwards.

The Karate Chop Point – as in EFT – is called the “Psychological Reversal Point” (PR) in TFT. It is only to be used if there is no shift in rating.

This brings us to the end of the tapping methods that I share with you.

I will close this week’s blog with the following important message:

If you are new to tapping, please seek guidance from a trusted and/or qualified source.
