7 Major Chakras 5/14

Whether looking to work with, or just generally talking about the Chakras, some people jump straight in and say: “I want to open my Third Eye.” I’m not sure if this is actually a trend at the moment, although I hear of it quite often. You can hear – in the voice of some of them – they’re either saying it for effect. Otherwise, they’re looking for some kind of reaction.

This has even been proven on some occasions. I say that, as what I have found on hearing this. Is when I deliberately ask people: Why do you want to open your Third Eye? Some people have absolutely no idea and therefore, no real answer. They’ve maybe heard it somewhere and it “sounds good”.

My learning and current understanding on this, would be to tell such people to hold out on this and gain advice from someone who is in a position to advise them. I would then ask them for around 5 minutes of their time. Introduce myself and get on with it…
Well I do have an obligation and there is always opportunity.

I am well aware that some people are looking for something else in life, I get that.

Yet when looking to better ourselves, we should not jump ahead on anything, just because something sounds good. Like anything else in life, we should get a little more information on the subject. Then. If we find it of interest – start to bring it into our lives.

I mention “jump” deliberately also. As that is exactly what people are doing, when going straight to their Third Eye Chakra. This is actually the 6th Major Chakra.
It is important to start at the beginning, with the Root.

The very reason 7 Severn focus on the Major Chakras, is to introduce and guide people through them in logical order.

So, what are Chakras?

“Chakra” is a Sanskrit word and means Wheel, or Disc.  They are our Energy Centres and we have 7 Major Chakras that run through the head, neck and trunk of our bodies.

They are:-

* Root Chakra, or Muladhara in Sanskrit.
Location: Base of Spine. Colour: Red.

* Sacral Chakra, or Svadisthana in Sanskrit.
Location: Just below Navel. Colour: Orange.

* Solar Plexus, or Manipura in Sanskrit.
Location: Above the Navel. Colour: Yellow.

* Heart Chakra, or Anahata in Sanskrit.
Location: Over the Sternum, between Shoulder Blades. Colour: Green.

* Throat Chakra, or Vishudda in Sanskrit.
Location: Throat area. Colour: Blue.

* Third Eye Chakra, or Ajna in Sanskrit.
Location: Middle of Forehead, around an inch above the eyebrows. Colour: Indigo.

* Crown Chakra, or Sahasrara in Sanskrit.
Location: On top of the head. Colour: Violet.
