To Be Or Not To Be? Continued…

Last week, I posed the question ” To Be Or Not To Be? This week, I open with my own thoughts on this.

Not to get too deep at this point. I generally like to use natural ways of alleviating ailments and states in which I find myself, where I possibly can. Such as for Colds (sniffles etc) I increase my intake of Spices.

By choice, rarely do I use any prescribed medication. Yet I do not discount them outright. If needs must – and only then, will I make use. There have been times where I have turned to prescribed medication. That said, this has been necessity rather than availability. So everything in it’s place and a place for everything is a good mainstay, in my opinion.

Further to that, where I initially let things run their course, there have been occasions where I later intervened.

The last time I did this was early November 2021 and used the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), commonly known as “Tapping”. I was on my feet more often than not throughout this time and naturally by each days end, I was tired.

It came to a point one day when I reached home completely shattered and my legs were aching. I sat there for around an hour watching T.V. and napping in a chair. When I went to get up, my left leg wouldn’t straighten. I massaged it and gradually was able to move it. After hobbling around awhile, I raised my leg on a stool as I sat back down. When I went to get up again, this time it wouldn’t bend. I began to massage whilst applying Deep Heat muscle rub and decided to wrap it – as I was going to bed. The next morning, it seemed to take forever to get moving. The days following – some were better than others and things seemed to improve. Admittedly. I didn’t use EFT for around 5 days. Amazing! The first time I applied EFT whilst getting ready for work in the morning. Tapping again on reaching work. As the day went on – things gradually got easier and by days end, all was good. I could now walk up and down stairways easily.

I am aware that some things will naturally run their course and heal in time of their own accord. Yet, as I am familiar with Tapping after using it for a number of years. I know and felt that something shifted through applying the technique.

There is one event that always makes me smile, and that is when I introduced EFT to my sister. We had met for lunch in a public place and there were families also with children playing around. My sister was feeling a little low and so I told her about EFT and how it may help. So I went through the sequence and she copied. After a few rounds of this, she lightened up and began smiling. I asked how she was now feeling and it wasn’t the tapping she was initially smiling about. She said: “The kids are copying what we’re doing.” I looked around and saw these kids tapping. Their parents were looking on with either bemusement or were laughing. One of the kids asked what we were doing, so I replied by asking how they were feeling, and they said: “I feel great!” It certainly cheered a few people up.

It’s at times like that I find very rewarding and EFT can do no harm. I’d say I’ve introduced EFT to around 15 people to date. Out of those who went on to apply it, only 1 person has said it did nothing for them.
